What was I supposed to do again??

I found a video on youtube that explains how your memory works. It explains why you lose your memory more and more as you get older. The more times you study something the easier it will be to store it in you memory. Just like doing something over again, such as playing a part of a song on an instrument, will help you remember how to play it and eventually you might even be able to play it without needing the music. Another way to improve memory is by relating information to something that you already know. It says that we have to exercise our memory in order to improve our memory.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grZuwo_YlY0

Optical Illusions

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWva0tg-iMk

Optical illusions show false images of what you really see. This video showed very good examples of different optical illusions. It also showed how some of the different illusions worked. I also liked this video because it gave a very good definition of what a optical illusion is. The false images can all lead to a bigger and better image.

PSA

My favorite blog was the one that Kayla, Leigha, and Courtney made. It made a lot of sense and every where they went, went along with the stage they were showing. I also liked it because it was really easy to understand. I also liked the descriptions of all of the stages. I liked how clear they spoke, making  it easier to understand.

Blog 4

video

I chose to do this video becasue it gives you a very good understanding of Erik Erikson's psychosocial stages in life. All the pictures and songs have meaning to the part of the video they are in. They makes sense on where they are in the video. It gives a lot of the meanings in the video that we have has vocabulary words in our text book. It made it easier to remember the information that we learned when it went along with pictures and songs.

Reflections

Using ice cubes in all my drinks was extremely hard to do because we never have ice cubes so I had to randomly make them. I felt bad lying because it's something I don't do. I can easily see how addictions can destroy relationships and friendships. One action I was surprised of was that when I was done I still wanted to put ice cubes in my drink. My boyfriend was the only one that really noticed I was using ice. I can easily see how upsetting it would be for apparent to find out their child is doing drugs.

Differences

Millenial people are more emotionally stable and they try to be more perfect. Generation x didnt spend as much time with their family's so the generation now is closer to their parents and family. Generation x also wanted their kids to be successful and in the past people didnt really care what ttheir kids would do becasue society was segregated. Now there are a lot more multitaskers that can watch tv and do homework at the same time or be able to listen to music and go on the computer at the same time.

Introduction

My expectation for this class is to pass it with a good grade. I also want to be able to know what causes certain behaviors to happen. I am really looking forward to learning more about behaviors and more about what psychologists do as a job and how they can help all kinds of people. I am really excited to learn about behaviors and certain method of researtch we can do to figure some things out. I expect it to be a class that I will have to spend a lot of time working on outside of school compared to all of my other classes. I also expect to get a lot of homework in it and I think it will be a good into to college.

This talks about the placebo effect. The placebo effect is where people make an experiment and tests out it's effects by having a different version of the original item and tries the normal one on one group of people and the different version on  a different group of people. Ben Goldacre simply explains what the placebo effect is and how it effects all the people in the world and how it works when it comes to mecial research.
